Forward San Diego

I love everything about forward. the doctors, the other care providers, the messaging app, the scribes taking notes in the background allowing the doctor to focus directly on me....even more....focused towards me looking me eye-to-eye, checking up on me to update the app that i picked up my rx. i am a forever patient. on my first in person exam the doctor offered an annual skin care check and found let's just say a golf ball sized bit of unhappiness hanging out underneath my skin. my primary care set by my employer never offered that for ten years. i'm now in the process of ruling out melanoma. had i not joined this amazing medical group it could have been a silent killer. i am a client for life. ❤️ completely exceeds my expectations! i have already referred 2 people to forward and plan to refer more!

If schwab does financial planning, forward does health planning. they’re not content to wait and see if you get sick and then treat you. they’re actively looking ahead for signs that you’re not healthy and planning with you to lead a healthier life style. my dr was amazing!

Very good first impression and excellent "patient experience" and experience that could lead a change in patient care. more to come!

Update: 1/6/21 i visited forward for my baseline visit and though i showed up ready to fight for my health (which is what i’ve had to do everywhere else) i didn’t need to! by the end of the visit i was relaxed and happy to be partnering with them on my health. all my blood test results were explained to me in detail, i was offered the tdap vaccine on the spot and all of my health concerns were heard and responded to. for the first time in my life i have a stress management plan that before that visit i didn’t know how bad i needed. i recommend forward if you want to proactively take on your health. i haven’t been to my baseline visit yet, it’s today in a couple of hours so i will update after. i can tell you - there is no 24/7 contact with a doctor. there is a customer service type of email that you can email anytime. i don’t feel as though i’m getting 24/7 access to a doctor though. they are advertised as a preventative care place, not a major treatment facility so i could understand why someone with a preexisting condition might not gain as much from forward. it’s more for preventing the condition. i booked with forward because i am interested in having my blood tested and the results explained to me, my genetics test results explained to me remote care (i live on a mountain) and to find out what my recent allergic reaction was from. as i said i will update after my visit.

This is the very best primary care health service ever. available 24/7. i was shocked by how fast they respond to my messages. it’s ~3:30 am pst, and they’re still up advising any questions i have. wowza.

I have appreciated the quick response, and the attentiveness of the drs i have consulted with. they have been very thorough and have moved me far beyond where i was before with their willingness and encouragement to order tests that former primary would not order. i have a much clearer picture of my health issues now. i like the model and the app for it’s ease of use and quick response but this will not be sustainable for me. the additional monthly cost as a retired person on medicare with a dwindling hsa will mean i will need to cancel my membership in the near future. meanwhile, thanks to the team!
